Zeilenkamerasysteme
Automatic Label Inspection
Systems help significantly reduce waste during
printing. The ALIS camera systems check every
label passing through the printing press,
detecting printing mistakes at speeds up to 180
m/min. The operator is alerted of the change and
can quickly correct the problem. PDF
verification technology is used to automate
setup and assure one point of reference. Process
information is collected, allowing accurate
quality and cost analysis. The printer knows
accurately how many good meters are in the ready
roll. The risk of reprints is eliminated and the
reserve meters can be reduced. Statistical
information is collected and organized in easy
to read, graphical reports.

loop quality control structures. The ALIS camera
systems check every label passing through the
rewinder, detecting printing mistakes at speeds
from 0 to 250 m/min. The rewinder is signaled to
stop and position the fault. Process information
is collected, allowing accurate quality and cost
analysis. Statistical information is organized
in easy to read, graphical reports.

The Offline Digital
Reference Inspection system was designed to
automate the costly, time consuming and error
prone visual verification of labels. The ODRI
system uses a DIN A1, A2 or A3 scanner to read
one print repeat of the product and
automatically compares it with the PDF data used
to make the plates for the product. The system
automatically marks suspicious spots and
highlights the differences for the operator.
Inspection results are summarized in industry
standard production reports for quality
assurance documentation. |

Inkjet-Steuerungssysteme
The printing of variable
data during the finishing process is
increasingly popular for pharmaceutical and
security labels. The ALIS-Jet group controller
automates the multiple ink-jet head
configuration and monitoring. The optional
camera unit verifies the printed variable data
and detects ink-jet malfunction and smear. The
screen of the Alis-Jet helps the operator
monitor the printing and perform maintenance
procedures on the heads from the front of the
machine. Integration with rewinder electronics
automates tasks like starting a new numbering
sequence and printing additional repair
sequences. The first label of the sequence is
automatically placed on the rewind shaft.

Modern high speed label
application lines impose strict requirements for
the position of the label relative to web edge.
Small deviations may cause costly line jam and
stoppage. The label production process is
multi-pass. Each production step - printing,
die-cutting, top-label application and slitting
introduce small inaccuracies of the position of
the label relative to the web edge. These
inaccuracies accumulate and are best visible on
the slitting rewinder. Meeting label edge
position accuracy requirements becomes
increasingly impossible without the use of
automatic control.
